As veteran professionals ourselves owning hair salons, we understand how difficult it is to accept new technology and change. Come on, its taken us all years of sweat and tears to become masters in the art of hair foiling and we don't want to give it up just because some gimmick comes along. It's a natural response to become defensive to change because change takes effort, risk and sets us apart from the pack. Technical advancements will always happen in hair coloring, we all may try to slow them down but before you know it, fewer and fewer remain in the herd and the best are way out in the front.

When you decide to use any product or tool, it basically comes down to the cost, time, ease of use and the final results. These are the key factors that must be balanced in order to determine if you are using the correct tool.  It is as equally important to understand your customers needs and wants so that you can provide them with a superior service that makes your hair salon stand out from the rest. We are very successful in our salons because we simply cater to our client's desires. We know for fact that they want their foils to be vibrant, variegated and to the root. It's kind of simple, what customer wants to pay full price for a muddy hair foil or tiger lines that start a half an inch from the root. Customers are willing to pay extra for quality so whats the problem? You are not alone, even the best hair foilist struggle with lines, spots and bleeds but very few are willing to admit it. Just don't ask them because its a very personal secret.

If you have made it this far, you should feel proud because you are on your way to accepting change in order to better your hair foiling career. Despite what you here, quality does matter in hair foiling and customers want precision and close to the root variegated foils. For many years our cosmetology schools have tried to teach the proper fundamentals in hair foiling such as selecting a weave and proper foil placement but the new cosmetology student and many teachers don't have the patients to struggle and we don't blame them. Producing an income should never become a struggle.

It will become our mission to raise the standards of your salon regardless of size or reputation. Who ever satisfies the client will win and believe that. The client always rules our industry and when they learn that your competitor produces better foils, the chains of loyalty will be snapped regardless of the years. As salon owners, we see it every day as we steal another new customer from a complacent competitor. Don't get caught in this dilemma simply because you closed your eyes to technical advancement.
